Dnipropetrovsk Museum of Art is one of the oldest Ukraine museums. Katerynoslav Art Gallery was found in the spring of 1914. this event was devoted to the memorable date - the 100th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko. In 1914 the museum opened an exhibition, where there were 64 paintings. Now it contains nearly 9,000 exhibits. Each one of 12 rooms is the history of art from icons to contemporary painting. This collection - one of the best in Ukraine and Europe.

Dnepropetrovsk Museum of History by Yavornytsky is one of the oldest Ukraine museums. It was found in 1849 by the public and with direct participation of Katerinoslavsky Governor AJ Fabre and director of province schools J. D. Grahov. From 1902 to 1933 the Museum was headed by an outstanding Ukrainian historian and academician Yavornytsky (1855-1940), whose name was given the museum in 1940. During 155 years, Dnipropetrovsk historical museum formed the 250 thousandth collection of items- various historical and cultural monuments of Ukraine, the local region, different cultures of the world (Egypt, Greece, China, Japan). Among the many attractions you may see unique items, such as: Kernosivskyy idol and Nataliyivska stele III millennium BC, Polovtsian stone images of X-XIII centuries., Scythian and Sarmatian antiquity, relics of Zaporizhzhya Cossacks (weapons, jewelry, clothing, paintings, documents), old prints (140 units), rich numismatic, archival and photographic collections and more.

Unique monument to the immortal heroism of Soviet soldiers - Diorama "Battle of the Dnieper in the district Voiskovoe-Vovnigi" was found in Dnepropetrovsk on the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1941-1945(1975. This masterpiece is created by masters of battle-painting: Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Nikolai Yakovlevich Booth and Nikolai Vasilievich Ovechkin. Area of Dnipropetrovsk museums is ​​840 square meters, it is located in a special building, designed by architect V. Zuev.
